The NOS Scholarship aims to allow talented young individuals realize their potential in music by providing a learning platform for youths across all walks of life. In light of recognizing Singapore’s growing music scene, we want to nurture the next generation of local singers who show aptitude, excellence and great enthusiasm for the study of vocal music or opera.

We acknowledge that an education in the arts can be costly. As part of increasing the accessibilities of opera to Singaporeans, we believe that such a provision will encourage talented youths in Singapore to chase after their dreams and passion for the art form without the worries and concerns of a job security or large financial burdens. Recipients of the scholarship are encouraged to also apply to prestigiously conservatories and academies around the world as a global approach to music education is needed for artists to have a holistic outlook on vocal performance as a career.

Hence, with such experiences, we expect that these individuals will be able to contribute back to our local music scene in various ways, revolutionizing our nation with world-class performance standards.
